Ok, so I just met with my boss. From the sound of it, though she didn't say so specifically, she may have already made an offer to someone. She did say, though, that there are other positions open in this department, and that she's been "very pleased" with my work and that she'd "like to keep me on in Resource Development in some capacity." She has given good reviews of my work to the woman who's in charge of the hiring process for these positions, so that's awesome. My next step is to talk to that woman, and to ask her about the open positions. I'll see if maybe she and I could meet sometime tomorrow or something.

Man, my boss is so sweet. I almost hope this other candidate falls through so that I can stay on working directly for her! She actually said, "Don't take another job until I find out what's going to happen with this position!" :)
