And it IS a good morning. The weather today is just gorgeous: partly cloudy, with a high of 77. Nice.

I did some cooking last night to make lunches for myself for the next few days. I now have a lovely beef skillet dish made with cheap steak marinated in soy and Worcestershire sauce, a bit of Guinness, potatoes, peas, carrots, onions, and dill. Yum. I needed a change from the chicken, rice, and broccoli stuff. At least with this, the steak is lean, and I trimmed off all the visible fat.

Tonight I am going to Goffee. Tomorrow night, I have NO plans at all, so if anyone would like to make some, please let me know! Saturday I'm not sure what I'll be doing, but it will be with geoogo. Saturday night, I will be spending with pierceheart for the first decent amount of quality time we've been able to spend alone together since this past Sunday. Yay! Maybe we can actually hash out what we'll do for our anniversary.

I started yak shaving a moment ago: I realized my nail is broken. There are nail clippers in my desk drawer. Unfortunately, the desk drawer is also a mess, so I started cleaning it up. Then I realized I hadn't finished this entry, so I went back to typing. Then, a second ago, I realized my nail was broken. Oy.

Now, I will find the clippers, clean the drawer, and then do whatever else I will do. Yeah. Oh, and get my damn coffee out!

It's when you avoid tasks--either purposefully or unconsciously--by creating more work for yourself to do, that has to be done before you can do that task. Like, "I have to go to the gym, but there's no point in working out if I'm not also eating right, but all the food in my house is unhealthy. So I'll go to the grocery store, buy some healthy food, come home, cook it, and eat something. And now it's too late to go to the gym." That's one example. My case wasn't that I was trying to avoid the task of cutting my nail, but I did allow myself to get sidetracked by other work.

Try a savoy spinach salad with pepita, pignolia seeds and almond halves (package at T-joes) with sliced cucumber, shredded carrots and balsamic vinaigrette, topped with thin slices of grilled chicken (also found at T-joes).

Surprisingly good, nutritious. Yummy! Why does "nutritious" look like it's spelled wrong?

Plans... what is that, Friday night?

Oh, salads are easy. :) I wanted something hot and filling so I don't get tempted to go buy a snack in the afternoon. Also, my meal was CHEAP as well, which is a big plus for me. Pignoli are expensive. Then again, Trader Joe's is cheap, but a pain for me to get to.
