The interview

My interview lasted about 45 minutes. One of the last things the interviewer said to me was, "It sounds like this would be a really good fit, for both of us."

Glee!

She was super-nice, and we talked a lot. She seemed impressed with my background and my skill set. It really DOES sound like a good fit. I'd get to do more writing, I'd be dealing with a lot of nice people, it's got more of a real focus than just basic admin work, and the promotion prospects are good. And OMG, the benefits are awesome.

She said she'll discuss the next step with some other people and contact me in a couple days. I'm looking forward to it. :)

No way in hell am I getting a car. Too much money, what with gas, insurance, upkeep, etc. I'm totally sticking with public transportation. Really, it's not usually bad. And since this job offers a 50% T-pass discount...OH YEAH.

ooooh even better! I guess on the east coast transportation is way better...over here, everything is quite a drive away. I miss NYC...I loved the subways and being able to walk everywhere, because everything was so close.

In the Boston metro area, it's fairly easy to get to most places by subway, and for ALMOST everywhere else, there's the bus. Not many places you can't get to with a bus and the subway. When a car is totally necessary or just really handy, my boyfriend has one and is usually very nice about driving me.

also, we (as in your potential future employer) have corporate ZipCar membership. there might be a signup fee of $25, but that's IT, then you can rent ZipCars when you need to. it's around $65 a day, that includes EVERYTHING, even gas. i LOVE ZipCar. L O V E it.

zipcars are easy to drive. i find the Scion A has crap sight lines, but the Prius is a dreamboat. i LOVE driving a prius.

then again, i do love driving. :) just not for commuting purposes. bleh.
