I'm back from Stones Rising!
I did catch up on e-mail and LJ. LJ, I have to admit, I mostly just scanned. So, if there's something very important going on that I completely missed, sorry about that, and just remind me. :)
Stones was pretty damn good. It felt good to haul those ropes, to skinny-dip in the creek, to touch the stones, to dance round the fire, to stand vigil with the Warriors, to see my friends again. I missed a few who were unable to make it, of course. I also met some new people who were pretty cool, and got to know a few people better who I'd only known vaguely before.
No Attack of the Bees this time, thank the Gods. No biscuits and gravy either, alas.
High points included:
* Crewing with the Stone People during their Practicum, which is when we get the stones ready for the pulls (working them onto sledges, etc.)
* The Radical Faeries High Tea, where we got to see a fashion show involving the Norse Gods and some interesting drag
* Getting into that cool water on Wednesday afternoon after a long drive on a hot, hot day
* Seeing that a couple of friends there seem to be an item now, and seem to be making each other quite happy
* Puppies with wings!
I did not take the pictures I said I'd take. Somehow my camera never made it into the bag I carried around throughout the day, and when I remembered that I HAD a camera and was supposed to take pictures, I was too far from my tent and too busy to get it. :( Other people will be posting pictures on the Forum, though, I hear.
I'm waiting to hear back about the job today. I hope it'll be a big fat "YES, WE WANT YOU!" I really do. Then I can relax. As it is, every time the phone rings, I jump, but it's always been my boss's line and not mine so far. Grr.
On the agenda:
* Potluck tonight. Gods only know what I'll have time to cook. Maybe another beer quickbread? Curry? We'll see. Depends on when it starts.
* Girlie date with
witchyspyce, date TBA
* PNO on 8/13
* Beer tasting on 8/14
Oh, and hopefully somewhere in there will be something along the lines of, "Sign acceptance of offer letter". :)
