Boy, I am in a fantastic mood today. I had a gorgeous weekend, so that's probably why I don't have a CASE OF THE MONDAYS!!!
I spent most of Saturday morning and early afternoon hanging out, puttering around the garden, doing dishes, and baking bread. Another yeasted beer bread, this time made with Blue Moon beer. Not half bad! I think barleywine makes the best beer bread, though. It's the sweetness. Then
pierceheart came over and we snuggled on the couch for a bit while watching Red Dragon. We had Vietnamese food for dinner in Chinatown, and then hit the Common to watch We got there about an hour and a half before the performance started, but it was already fairly crowded. We still managed to get halfway decent seats (which nonetheless left me wishing I'd brought my glasses--silly me!) and rented chairs. Even with a jean jacket I was slightly chilly, but oh man...the play was a HOOT! I was cracking up. Part of it was the North End accents superimposed on Shakespearian language. Part of it was the sheer bawdiness of the humour. It was just great. I had a fabulous time. I'm so glad we managed to get to see it before the end of the season.
Sunday morning, we realized we had no plans for the daytime. I made whole wheat pancakes for breakfast (and still have some pre-made and frozen!), and then we went to the Fells for a bit of a hike. I saw a garter snake. We went to the Cascades (which weren't), and got some pretty neat views. Afterwards we stopped for munchies since we were ravenous, and watched Office Space at the boy's house. That rocked. I've been told by at least five different people that I HAD to see that movie. Now I finally have. Then we went back to my place so I could shower before PNO. PNO turned out to be me,
pierceheart, and
cryptifur. We need to get more people out for that next month!
Tonight it's lamburgers for dinner and then a beer tasting at Downtown. Lamb and beer! Joy!
