The wheels turn slowly...

I'm a bit cranky this morning because my ability to do my job properly is somewhat impaired, as is my ability to sign up for everything I need to sign up for, in terms of benefits, tax withholding, payroll, etc. The first problem is caused by the fact that I don't have proper maintenance access for the databases where I need to make changes. The second problem is caused by the fact that there was a mix-up in assigning me an ID number, because I had one as a temp but the person who gave it to me spelled my name wrong in the system. Then I got a second ID number. Neither one works properly for what I need it to do. I got the IS people to straighten this out, but it won't actually take effect until tomorrow. Oy.

My boss is supposed to be in today. Maybe she can at least help me with the database access issues.

No worries, things are traditionally chaotic the first week of term, and of course, what can go wrong does, at the worst moment. It's kind of like being pledged/hazed.

Yeah. Fortunately, I'm usually pretty good at getting stuff like this straightened out because I keep track of what needs to be done and find out who needs to do it. :)
