OK, Now this is getting ridiculous.
Sep. 8th, 2006 08:30 amMIT has its employees enter their hours worked on an online SAP system. The same system is used for benefits enrollment and other things. Yeah, most of that can be done by paper as well, but the time entry is supposed to be done online.
When I started here permanently, there was a mixup with a misspelling of my name that made me have two different ID numbers in the system. The right number didn't work to get me security certificates (needed to access the SAP page). The wrong number did get me the certificates, but because it was a number for a temp employee, the certificates I got with it did not give me access to the SAP page.
Now, I was told this would be fixed on Wednesday night. Thursday morning, it should work. It didn't. Later on Thursday, I could get certificates using the right number. I did so. But still, no access to the SAP page. I was finally told (after talking to about five people) that the fix had only been done Thursday morning, and that it would take a night for the change to update in the SAP system. Fine. I get that. So this morning I come in. I go to open up the SAP web page and see if I can do my benefits elections and enter my personal info and stuff. No go.
I'm now getting a DIFFERENT error message than I was before, but I'm still getting an error message.
I e-mailed the person who told me it should work today and pasted the error message into the e-mail. I really, really am getting sick of this. I have gone through several different departments. HR tells me one thing. IS&T tells me another. At least my own RD computer help people can see for certain that my certificates are all set, and that THAT is the only thing on MY personal computer that affects my ability to get into SAP. Everything else is a problem somewhere in another system.
Oy vey. I need to get this fixed today.
EDIT: George the SAP SysAdmin fixed it! YAY!

Date: 2006-09-08 01:11 pm (UTC)NOW I have benefits, and my Direct Deposit and Withholding info are in the system! Yay!
Also, I note that they give my start date as 9/4/06, not 9/5/06. Apparently that means I get paid for Monday! Sweet!
