Sep. 16th, 2006 08:26 amHad a very fun but rather too early night last night. I went to Rock Bottom Brewery for dinner and then to see The Illusionist with
cloakedrose. The food was tasty, though my fajita chicken was a little too salty. YES, it's still me typing this. It was amusing watching
cloakedrose realize that different beers have different tastes! Yup.
pierceheart, you would like the fact that they have some German-inspired dishes there now.
The movie was phenomenal. Absolutely magical. Ed Norton is always great, and he had some great co-stars to work with in this, like Rufus Sewell, who always plays a great bad guy. The magic tricks are amazing. I highly recommend it. When that was over, I came home and for lack of anything better to do, started watching Quills on DVD. Fell asleep over it at about 11:30, for 15 minutes or so, and turned it off to go to bed.
Today I'm going to clean my house JUST IN CASE
pierceheart's party is going to be here. I STILL don't know for sure. But I need to clean it anyway, just so it will be clean.
pierceheart has offered to help, but I don't know what time I can expect his assistance, so I should get started early and make some good headway. I don't know if I'll get the beef stew made today or tomorrow. Depends on when I can get the crock pot. We'll see.
Edit: Yes, the party is still on the 30th. I just need to put in some good solid time cleaning the place this weekend, because I'm not just talking about picking up a few things. I need to do a major, in-depth cleaning of this place like it hasn't seen in months and months. Mucking out the reflector pans on the stove. Cleaning the top of the cabinets in the kitchen. Changing the futon cover (if I still have the other one). Cleaning the fridge. Everything needs cleaning.

Date: 2006-09-16 02:51 pm (UTC)then there's Sam Adams with a thousand and one different types which pretty much all taste the same -- or is my palette dead?
Re: different beers have different tastes
Date: 2006-09-16 03:18 pm (UTC)Also, while Sam Adams is decent, they're not the best brewery out there, and rarely do their beers truly exemplify a style.
If I gave you a taste of Red God Pale Ale, Young's Oatmeal Stout, and Franziskaner Hefe, you'd be able to tell a major difference between those.
Maybe you're not a beer person

Date: 2006-09-16 08:47 pm (UTC)Luckily, we both chip in for professional cleaners twice a month, they do the BIG stuff (wash floors, carpets, blah blah), and then the little stuff becomes manageable. But when I do something big myself, it's always worth the effort, VERY satisfying. :-)
