I frequently say that Natural Born Killers has the best damn soundtrack of any movie out there. Well, I just saw Basquiat again, and you know what? It's a tie. Wow. "Hallelujah" done by Cale gets me every fucking time.

Absolutely. Basquiat has an AMAZING soundtrack - the Bowie! The Pogues!

And yes, Cale's version is a real tear-jerker!

I find Buckley's to be a bit more...emo than Cale's. Cale's is a bit more minimalist. Cohen obviously was the genius for coming up with the words, but Cale found the best way of expressing them, IMO.
