Nov. 15th, 2006 02:58 pmFive Positives for today:
1. A girl from the MIT Stitch 'n' Bitch is in the professional development class I'm taking today, tomorrow, and Friday. Her birthday is tomorrow, so I'll be seeing her after all on that day and can give her some stash yarn as a present, maybe.
2. I finally managed to organize and digest the multitudes of information I found on a potential prospect for work. Took a while.
3. The Chinese place in the food court across the street from me also has sushi. One thing they serve is called the "MIT Roll": a California roll topped with unagi, avocado, AND flying fish roe! That's all my favourite sushi stuff. I was thrilled to discover that. It made a satisfying lunch.
4. I have time to do laundry tonight. That is WAY overdue.
5. Doing laundry tonight will give me some good solid time in which to get some boo-boo fixing done on my cardigan.
I think this year I'm actually going to send out holiday cards. I said I would do that last year, but I'm not surprised I never got around to it, especially with the anxiety of my crappy job eating me alive by that point. Ugh. I may do some shopping downtown this weekend: get some holiday cards if they have 'em yet in Filene's Basement, and maybe a few new items of clothing from the discount stores around there. I do need more clothes. It seems I always need more clothes and that 70% of the clothes I own at any given time are falling apart. *sigh*

time to do laundry...
Date: 2006-11-15 08:29 pm (UTC)I usually design and print my own cards -- give it a whirl -- if they don't come out well, then you can hit Filene's -- I get card stock and envelopes from Staples -- 'course with the price of ink now, I'd probably be better off at a dollar store with the 10 for a buck cards :)

Date: 2006-11-15 09:41 pm (UTC)"rubber stamps are my friends, they let me make cards that dont look like i drew them"
if your ability to draw a line is as bad as mine, then find some neat rubber stamps and coloring pencils and go to town.
i never get holiday cards out. mostly because i actually dont have the snail mail addies of my friends...or most of my relatives, now that i think about it....
hmmm... project? try to get addresses before mail deadline? hmmmmm
oh, and if you want to buy cards? there are a lot of cards where a portion fo the proceeds go to some charity. IKEA has Unicef cards, for example
