Nov. 25th, 2006 09:46 pmSheesh, it's early. My movie just ended, and my knitting's exasperating me, so I suppose I'll update LJ.
Thanksgiving with the family was pretty good, in spite of the typical frustrations and quibbles. I had a bunch of leftovers--including homemade applesauce and winter vegetable soup that I LOVE--but forgot them in the fridge at my parents' place, goddamn it. But, as I didn't realize this until I was halfway back to Boston, I didn't bother to go back and get them.
pierceheart and I made a Penzey's run today. I got some staples I needed (cinnamon, oregano, cayenne, ginger, and paprika) and some fun stuff (cocoa powder and chip & dip seasoning). Dinner tonight didn't use any of that stuff, but it was good: beef stew. Yum. I DID make hot chocolate with the cocoa powder for dessert, though, adding a little cinnamon and vanilla and just a hint of chipotle. I've been craving hot chocolate lately.
Tomorrow the boy and I will be working off some of those calories from Thanksgiving by hiking in the Fells, which we haven't done since summer. I'm looking forward to it. I like hiking in the cool weather better, anyway.
I just finished watching Walk the Line. Man, I love that Johnny Cash. I really need some more of his stuff, since all I have is a CD-R with a few of his songs on it, one of which is cut off. Meh.
And yeah, it's early. I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the evening. Take a bath? Watch another movie? Maybe a bath would be better. I have a bubble bar in the bathroom that needs using up, and settling into some hot water with a book and maybe a mask on my face sounds like fun. Then some snuggling into my bed with more of my book and a teddy bear or two. :)
