For anyone who's heard about the fire in Kendall Square

I'm fine. The building is down the street from me, but not near enough for the fire to be any kind of a threat. There's a lot of road closures and part of the Red Line has been shut down, though. It's a big fire. And it's in the building where I temped for a month and a half this past summer! Eek! I'm going to give my former supervisor there a ring and see if she's ok.

I'm watching it on the news right now. There are dozens that will end up at Mass General. Some are very serious.

yeah it was in Bldg E70 We had a few of our people who were in the bldg come back to the main office. Power is starting to come back to some of the surrounding bldgs now.

Yeah, I've heard about smoke inhalation cases going to the hospital, but no deaths.

Holy heart attack, Batman. I just made a panicked call to see if you were okay before it dawned on me to check LJ...whew. Very, very glad you weren't in the middle of that; it looks like one very scary, ugly scene. According to Boston.com, there's been one fatality, one of the NStar employees who apparently was in the basement where the explosion happened.

Yeah, I saw that there's been one casualty. Poor guy was only 28. Damn.
