...I just got one.

I was looking at some securities info with my boss, getting some help from her on interpreting some of the filings, and she said, "Maybe we can get you to the APRA conference in the summer. That might be useful to you for this sort of thing." It's a conference held by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement, and the July '07 international conference will be in Chicago. Sweet! I might be going to an actual useful conference! Not a stupid one-day seminar where people tell me about "active listening" and "smart goals", but a conference that's specifically geared towards my kind of job, where I can learn skills and resources appropriate to that specific job. Neato! Wouldn't mind traveling to Chicago and SUBMITTING an expense report instead of processing one, for a change...

Sheesh, I hate to repeat myself, but if the shoe fits:

PROFESSIONAL.
ACCOMPLISHMENT.
ROCKS.

(And they usually book those things in nice hotels, too. Ask for a single king-sized room, if you have the option. Sleep sideways, just because you can.)
