Woo-hoo! Performance high!
Dec. 15th, 2006 09:17 amLast night my dance class went to the Athenian Corner restaurant in Lowell to perform. I did a veil piece in our second set. It was so much fun. I felt a lot more comfortable with the improv than I did last time I danced there to a live band. The song seemed to go by so quickly, too! I love "Miserlou", and the band did a very nice job with it. The group number at the end, "Soleil d'Egypte", wasn't bad either. I had a great time dancing.
nepenthe01 said she recorded my veil piece. Hope I get to see that!
Tonight it's gonna be me-time. I'll get the grocery shopping done that I need to do, make myself a nice, tasty, HEALTHY dinner, and do some knitting. Tomorrow I'll try to finish up my Christmas and Yule shopping and wrap my gifts. Then it's off to
disownedheidi's new place to warm it up!
Five positives for today:
1. Great performance last night!
2. I get to take an actual lunch break today.
3. There's a goodbye party for a higher-up in the department today. That means more wine and tasty food and less work!
4. Finished up the evil 22-page report yesterday so today is free for other work.
5. IT'S FRIDAY!!!
Now, I have an announcement: one of my coworkers has a number of purebred shetland sheepdog puppies who are ready to leave their mom and find a loving home. He said he'd be willing to provide transportation "to Maine if I have to" to bring them to someone, if transportation is an issue. His wife has ideas about asking for $500 for them (they ARE pedigree), but he said he'd almost be willing to give them away. I'd probably suggest that if you're interested, be prepared to make an offer, and they'd be likely to accept it. If anyone here IS interested in a puppy, let me know and I'll get his permission to pass along his e-mail address or something to contact him. I'm sure the dogs are in a good home, since this guy's responsible and fairly well-off.
