Bootses or lack thereof
Dec. 28th, 2006 10:42 amLast night I tried to find myself a good pair of winter boots. I went to DSW since they're usually cheaper there. Now, there were some boots there that were Serious Boots. You know--waterproof, insulating to -25F, good rubber soles, the whole nine yards. Most of the boots, though, were "fashion" boots for winter, which looked like the offspring of a mukluk and a lhasa apso: shaggy fur everywhere, with the occasional poodle-like pompom. Gah. Some of them even had four-inch heels ferfucksake. Among the Serious Boots, there was a single pair I really liked: they were cute as well as Serious, in a nice simple black look. They met with my price criteria ($100), and I almost bought them. But I REALLY wanted Serious Boots that came up to mid-calf, and these were just above the ankle. That means cold legs if there's a deep snow. Meh. Only the lhasa apsos were tall. :(
Ah, bootses.
Hope you find somethign that will work for you. The Lhasa Apsos sound revolting. What good is a 4-inch heal in a snow storm or on ice? Gah!
