Ok, so as much as I bitch and moan about the unseasonable weather, there was no denying that today was simply a beautiful day: this time the warmth wasn't accompanied by humidity, clouds, or rain. I woke up fairly late and had a lot of cleaning up to do, but after that, around 2ish, I took a nice shower, got dressed, and set out for a walk. I walked into Harvard Square, window shopped a bit, spent a good bit of time in Woolcott & Company, and by then it was 4:30 and the sky was starting to get dark. I walked back to Davis and hit McKinnon's to pick up some stuff for dinner. I bought some chicken breasts that I'm going to cook up Moroccan-style (lemon, honey, cumin, and a bit of cinnamon), and some canned whole tomatoes, eggplant, and mushrooms that I'm going to make into a sort of Moroccan ratatouille. All this is to go with leftover Moroccan couscous that someone brought to my place last night and which is very tasty. I also picked up a pound-and-a-half pork tenderloin that I stuck in the freezer for a future dinner. That stuff is so lean and so tasty, and DAMN does McKinnon's sell it cheap! I paid about $4 for it. Mmmmm. I always feel sort of guilty every time I buy meat anywhere but there, since their prices are so much better than anywhere else.
So my chicken is now marinating, but I don't want to start cooking yet because I don't know when
pierceheart will be home. I haven't heard from him since he left this morning. Maybe this means their October training trip is back on track and he has to work on planning for it? I dunno. We'll see.
I brought my iPod with me today. This was the first time I'd used it since putting my own music on it. I listened to Steeleye Span on the way into Harvard and while I was there, and then Einstuzende Neubauten on the way back. I am in an AMAZINGLY good mood and feel refreshed and energetic after that walk with that music. Yay!
