I so need to go grocery shopping. My cupboards are BARE, y'all. I am OUT of COFFEE. That in and of itself is cause for alarm. Gods, I wish I had tonight free, but I don't. Ah well. At least I should be able to manage to grab a few things at the store on my way home and still get where I need to be by 7pm. I hope. I just don't want to face getting up Saturday morning and getting to Arisia by...what, 10am for the first panel I want? with no coffee in my system and nothing healthy for breakfast.
This is such a busy, busy month.
I also still NEED A GODDAMN BRA to wear under my good dress!!! I don't know how I'll get one! The Victoria's Secret in Faneuil Hall didn't have a backless/strapless except those useless adhesive things. I think the Lane Bryant ones would be too big for me--their smallest size is my size in a normal bra, and you usually need to go down one for a strapless. Maybe I can order a couple online tonight when I get home and give them a try, and I'll send back whatever doesn't work. I need to do this so I can get the damn dress tailored.
How long does it usually take for a tailoring job like getting a dress taken in? Hopefully not forever. I don't know how much in advance I'll be able to bring it in. Couple weeks, tops, most likely.
I may see about taking a short vacation late in February. Just a long weekend or something. *sigh*

Date: 2007-01-11 08:59 pm (UTC)Perhaps you can also see about looking for a grocery delivery service, at least for now. There may be some online. (I know there used to be, anyway.)
*hug* Have a good time at Arisia! A friend of mine (
And I hope your birthday's been grand. :)

Date: 2007-01-11 09:04 pm (UTC)I will have a chance to grab at least the bare necessities at the store tonight, fortunately. Apparently those grocery delivery people are like the cable guy: they give you a time frame when you need to be home to accept delivery. Dudes, if I HAD that time, I'd go to the store myself! :P
My birthday was lovely. Hope yours was as well.

Date: 2007-01-11 09:14 pm (UTC)If January's nuts, it's so worth it to pay extra and have the bras rush-shipped. You're right; you gotta get the bra you will wear with the dress to get it tailored properly, or you'll look like a '57 Chevy with fins.

Date: 2007-01-11 09:22 pm (UTC)The take-in shouldn't be TOO hard. I don't know a heck of a lot about sewn garment construction, but I discovered last time I took the dress out of the closet that it actually DOES have simple, straight seams down the sides. If they can undo those, do a bit of darting and some general taking-in, it should be fine.
