Slight chip on shoulder developing.
Feb. 14th, 2007 06:43 amYes, I am celebrating this commercial, heterocentric, monogamy-centric, sappy, cheesy, Hallmark holiday. And I like celebrating it.
I'm not celebrating it out of some vague sense of societal obligation. I'm making this a time to fight mid-February SAD and icky weather with romance. I'm making it an excuse to take some time out of a busy life to do something special with the people I love. I'm taking an opportunity to stock up on schmoop while schmoop is freely available. I like this.
Note: this rant is due more to the vast number of complaints and large amounts of smug anti-V-Day sentiment I've seen on a few polyamory forums than it is to anything said by anyone on my flist.

Date: 2007-02-14 01:37 pm (UTC)I used to call 2/14 Hate Day, because I was all bitter and unloved. I wrote bad poetry, too. ;D
After being with Eric for 8 years, I revel in the snuggles now, the cheeseball fun, and excuse to remember how to date.
*hugs*
Have a magnificent day!

Date: 2007-02-14 05:40 pm (UTC)I LOVE Valentine's day. Love it, love it, love it. I love the love.
Date: 2007-02-14 07:48 pm (UTC)Soup:
Cream of carrot with creme fraiche
Appetizer:
Cheese in pastry dough on greens
Salad:
Beet salad with walnuts and blue cheese, put into a heart shaped cookie cutter, with avacado slices arranged in a fan.
Main course:
Seitan with apricot/caper/butter/garlic sauce, with cheese cups with mushroons in them, and roasted potatos.
Dessert:
An attempt at an eggless pecan pie, with a strawberry tart as a back up.
I hope I get a heart-shaped box of chocolates in return.
