Feb. 27th, 2007 12:59 pmI just ate my lunch, and I'm actually still hungry. My stomach is rumbling 20 minutes after I ate. Sheesh. That's unusual. Maybe I should get a snack of some description today.
So my mom's 60th birthday is March 4, and my sister and I are going in on some nice jewelry for her. We planned on getting her a Tiffany pearl bracelet, but the thing turned out to be a lot smaller and more delicate that my mom usually likes (she's not a small and delicate person). So, we found a pretty set of 14K gold jewelry--a necklace and earrings--with amber-coloured Venetian glass hearts, for about the same price as the bracelet alone NOT from Tiffany. Not bad. I approve of the "getting more and better stuff without the snooty brand" concept. I'm looking forward to my mom's big day. We're having the party on the 10th. It's going to be potluck, so I'll have to think of something to bring that my mom will like (read: Atkins-friendly, not "weird", and preferably hearty and robustly flavoured).
Damn, now thinking of recipes is making me hungrier. Ok, I will finish what I'm doing workwise, then go hit the bookstore (forgot my book!) and grab a snack.
Five positives:
1. Fairly easy research job at work today, and I'm almost done already!
2. The bookstore is in the same building as a food court.
3. Found a good gift for Mom!
4. Dance tonight. Hey, I'll get needed exercise.
5. I have cute galoshes!
