It's official: this is a real job!
Mar. 19th, 2007 02:42 pmI'm going to a professional conference for development researchers at the end of April! It's being held at the Cliff House in Maine, which is super cool. I could never afford it if MIT weren't footing the bill.
I am very highly excited about this. I get to attend workshops that will help me with my job, and I'll be carpooling with two of the cooler people in the office to get there and back. We'll leave after work on Wed. 4/25 and come back in the afternoon on Fri 4/27. So I don't lose the weekend, but I get time out of work!
I have no idea how one dresses at these things. Is it suit territory? Or just normal business casual clothes? I'll ask the people who've been before. And I think I may need to get or borrow a little roller suitcase for this, the kind people use as a carry-on on flights. Somehow I don't think my usual giant backpack would look professional...
Edit: Oh man! The day after I'll be leaving, there's going to be a Gritty McDuff's microbrew dinner there! Waaah!
