I just ordered the last two pieces of my costume for this recital: some professional-grade zills (same kind you got, nepenthe01, and a new hip scarf. There was only ONE PLACE where I was able to find one that matched the choli I'm getting. Sheesh. It's the third from the left here:



At least, it's called "copper" and LOOKS like the same colour as the choli I'm getting. I really, really hope it does, at least close enough that they look the same from a distance.

I feel like I spent a ton on this karsh costume, but let's look at prices w/ shipping:

1. Skirt: free, due to a mistake nepenthe01's vendor made.
2. Choli: $36.30
3. Harem pants: $6.56
4. Hip scarf: $42.94
5. Zills: $41.05

Total: $127.05

Not TOO bad, I guess. Especially since I can and will wear those zills with ANY costume and in class. And it could have been much worse if I'd had to pay for the skirt and if I'd had to pay a normal amount for the harem pants.

I was looking at an online Highland Dance supply store, to see what they had in the way of real dance ghillies. Just for fun, I looked at their dance stockings.

Are we playing zils in the group piece or is this for your solo? Either way, I hope you like the Arabesque IIs as much as I like mine!

I can't wait til my harem pants arrive. I have a hot pink velvet choli coming too. So I'm pink, you're blue & orange & yellow. I wonder what the other girls will wear.

I think just in the solo. I picked out a piece at least! It's short--2:44--and upbeat. It's a slightly faster version of Dere than you usually hear.

Nice! My piece is short too - like 3 minutes and 9 seconds. Should be a nice short recital this year.

Lilya helped me improve the choreography so that it's less busy.
