1. Who was your best friend?:

A.A., who was in most of my classes. We've reconnected recently and still have a ton in common. Hopefully, I'll get to see her in a couple weeks when she's in Boston!

2.What sports did you play?:

No team sports. I took karate lessons four nights a week, though, and loved it.

3. What kind of car did you drive?:

My senior year I had my grandfather's old car: a silver '88 Nissan Sentra.

4. It's Friday night, where were you?

Vegging at home in front of the TV with my family most weeks, eating pizza or Chinese. That was my recuperation-from-the-week night. I went out with my friends on Saturday nights.

5. Were you a party animal?:

The parties my friends and I had were fairly tame, but lots of fun.

6. Were you considered a flirt?

Nope. No one in my school ever seemed to consider me in a sexual context at all, and I was madly in love with one guy only, who wasn't in my school.

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?

I was in band/orchestra (clarinet), and did chorus my junior year (quit after that because I hated the director).

8. Were you a nerd?

Well, I was a little more self-confident and social then than I was in junior high. But I was in honors classes, and ended up salutatorian.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?:

Nope.

10. Can you sing the fight song?

We didn't have one, but I do remember the old school song.

11. Who was your favorite teacher?

Mr. Sousa, my French teacher, because he adored me for being his best student (except for one kid in the year above me).

12.What was your school's full name?

Lincoln High School

13. School mascot?

Lions

14. Did you go to Prom?

Both, with the same guy. For junior prom we weren't technically going out and went as friends. For senior prom, we were dating and went as a couple. It was fun.

15. If you could go back and do it over, would you?

You know, it happened, it was good, and it's over. That's how it should be.

16. What do you remember most about graduation?

I remember making my speech. It went over well because it was quick. :)

17. Where were you on senior skip day?

We only skipped classes on the last day of school. I went to school, went to the classes I liked, and skipped the ones I didn't, to go hang out with my friends in their classes.

18. Did you have a job your senior year?

Not until the summer after, when I worked at K-Mart.

19. Where did you go most often for lunch?

The cafeteria. You weren't allowed to have lunch anywhere else.

20. Have you gained weight since then?

Yep, and lost it again. I weigh about what I did then again!

21. What did you do after graduation?

We had a postgrad night at a recreation facility (indoor soccer, indoor beach volleyball, games, arcade, etc.) that lasted all night. Then I worked through the summer and spent lots of time with my friends.

22. When did you graduate?

1997

23. Who was your Senior prom date?

My then-boyfriend, R.M. The Transylvanian. Who was NOT a transvestite. :)

24. Are you going to your 10 year reunion?

I would very much like to go, and I'm waiting eagerly to find out when it's going to be held.

25. Who was your home room teacher?

That varied from year to year. I can't remember any of their names.

26. Who will repost this after you?

No idea, don't care.

I enjoyed high school too. Got to date the most handsome, grown up looking guy in the school, whom I lost my virginity to, and we cut class a lot to go home and you-know-what while my mom was at work. :-)

ZZbottom! Great username!

1. Who was your best friend? "Lüd", aka Tom Callihan.

2.What sports did you play?: Hockey Cheerleader.

3. What kind of car did you drive?: 1973 Dodge Tradesman Van

4. It's Friday night, where were you? Gilly's. (http://www.jazzadvocate.com/Location%20and%20Organizations/Gilly's.htm) Except, at that time, Friday night was Punk Nite. And we had national-level acts mixed with local talent opening bands. And slam-dancing, too, none of this pussy mosh-pit stuff.

5. Were you a party animal?: For the second half.

6. Were you considered a flirt? No.

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Choir. And theatre.

8. Were you a nerd? For the first half.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?: No. But they had to hold Saturday School for the entire summer one year, so that they had enough weeks to punish me. Which begs the question: "Who got punished?"

10. Can you sing the fight song? Ummmm.... It's pretty lame. It's really just a marching drum riff that has a chant (Go, Elks, go!). Yes, that's right, my high school mascot is the misformed plural of Elk.

In great irony, everyone in the WORLD knows my high school fight song, even though they rarely know that it is. One of the drummers in our marching band (she was a senior when I was a freshman) was Nancy Cartwright. It was common practice for the drum corps (and often other members of the band near them) to replace the "Go Elks Go" with "Eat My Shorts". Has the same cadence and the crowd and so forth can't hear the difference. Then, you know, she got a job doing voicework...

11. Who was your favorite teacher? Mrs. Farrell. Drama.

12.What was your school's full name? Centerville High School

13. School mascot? Elks. *wince*

14. Did you go to Prom? No. Well, sort of. I could *see* the prom from our picnic dinner and *ahem* private "dance" in the farmer's field behind the high school.

15. If you could go back and do it over, would you? No.

16. What do you remember most about graduation? How hot it was.

17. Where were you on senior skip day? Ironically, in class.

18. Did you have a job your senior year? Yes, I worked for a newspaper.

19. Where did you go most often for lunch? I didn't eat lunch much back in the day.

20. Have you gained weight since then? Yes.

21. What did you do after graduation? Right after? Entertained family and dad's friends at the house. The next day? Had a first date with a guy I *finally* had the courage to ask out at the graduation rehearsal. Then I spent the summer kicking around, culminating in an August trip to Australia (paid for by a radio contest I'd won) and finally went away to college.

22. When did you graduate? June, 1987.

23. Who was your Senior prom date? J. Scott Steele Jerry. Sort of. Scott broke our date the day before, I trashed the dress, cancelled all my reservations, and dyed my hair blue. THEN Jerry (his best friend) asked me out. So, we went out and we had a lovely time. Fun was had by all. But we didn't actually go *in* the prom itself. And Scott, I heard later, took his other date to all the places I had reserved -- and found himself without any reservations! Imagine that!

24. Are you going to your 10 year reunion? Sort of. Our reunion committee were pretty out of touch, and they planned the 10 year in another city. No one went. We held our own "unofficial reunion" in a downtown bar -- and nearly half the class showed up.

The jury is still out on whether I will go to the 20 year this summer, or just plan an unofficial visit with people I care about.

25. Who was your home room teacher? Joy Barnett. She was outed as a lesbian and not allowed to teach physical education, so instead she taught 7 periods of "Health". Including, mind you, sexual education. So, the same small minds who were afraid that she would be looking at their daughters in the locker room, let her teach them about sex. Figure that one out!

26. Who will repost this after you? Well, I don't intend to post it, so... no one?
