Went to MIT Medical, saw the doctor right away. That was nice. He says it's almost certainly just a really bad cold, and he prescribed a cough suppressant with codeine for me. Yay.

Of course, it being Saturday, the MIT pharmacy was closed. They told me that if I went to Inman Pharmacy, they'd make me pay just the copay there and they'd bill MIT. So I walked about a mile and a half each way to get to the pharmacy and back to Kendall. It was not fun. See, I love to walk. Usually even when I feel like crap, I walk fast. But now, with the coughing, the soreness in my abs, and the soreness in my back (all the muscles that keep getting tensed up from coughing), I'm a slowpoke. It felt like it took forever, in that heat. But when I finally got back to Davis, I got a low-fat hard yogurt (coffee chip) from JP Licks, which made me happy.

Now to drink some cool water and watch some more LOTR.

Actually, I didn't take any until I was ready to go to bed. I took it at about 10:30, went to sleep at about 11.

Woke up coughing at 2:30. It was supposed to last 6 hours. So much for codeine.

I didn't want to take more of that stuff before I was supposed to, so I took a dose of NyQuil cough at that point. I fell asleep again shortly after 3, and slept until after 8. It's not the huge healing amount of sleep I'd have liked, but at least it was a full night. I feel fairly good today, but we'll see what happens come evening, when this shit's been at its worst.
