What a way to start the morning.

So this morning I got up to go to the bathroom after my alarm went off. When the toilet was nearly done flushing, the cap from the air freshener bottle fell off and GOT FLUSHED DOWN. Now I have a toilet that's full of water and won't flush after 20 straight minutes of vigorous plunging.

FUCK.

I called the damn landlady at 6:30 in the morning. She'll call the plumber after 7. Anyway, looks like I may be stuck here for a while. I'm just glad that 1) I already got to use the bathroom, and 2) the toilet is JUST full of water.

Goddamn it, this is not how I was thinking about using my personal time from work. Meh. Maybe it'll only be a few hours.

My kids did that to me TWICE. I had to replace the toilet both times. The first time, I only figured this out after having my arms stuck up in the thing from the base up into the cistern for two hours trying to pry the stupid lego loose. The second time, I just went out and bought a new toilet, foregoing the 'arm up the shitter' altogether.

Yeah, I actually tried the sticking-my-arm-in thing too since the bowl was just full of water. No go. The landlady left a message for the plumber but hasn't heard back yet. She herself is coming over with a snake at 9:30. Oy.

I hope the snake works! I tried that, too. Suction caused the thing to stay stuck, and even when I removed the toilet and stuck my arm in from the bottom of the toilet up, nothing would budge. Except my stomach, of course, which heaved!

Me too. It's twice as maddening because although it was an accident that caused the problem, it was MY accident. The cap on the air freshener doesn't fit right so it doesn't stay on, and I tipped the damn can when I was putting it back on the shelf, so the cap fell off. Grr.
