The department cookout was from 12 to 2, and then they let us go home. :D
I managed to find food at the cookout (they had veggie burgers!) so that was good. Still, it was a little more than twice as many points as I usually have. Oy. But I walked home from work afterwards (yeah, in this heat) which means I'll at least be able to have a halfway decent dinner.
I picked up a pair of hedge clippers at Tags on my way home to trim the Giant Thorn Bush of Doom outside my door, and came home to find that someone already had, at least a little. They left the trimmings in a pile, which doesn't make me happy. Anyway, it still needs a little more, so I can still play with the sharp objects.
Hot. A/C is on. Still not cooled down.
I also picked up a thing of those little popsicle molds, to make Crystal Light pops with. Yum! I may need to get some non-lemonade flavours to do that with, now.
Edit: I now have visible steps! I also have a trash can 2/3 full of thorn bush. I am also sweating like a pig. There's a lot of deadwood that I've exposed with this massively huge cutting, which is too bad. I wish I had a chainsaw so I could take some of that out--a lot of it is really far too thick for hedge clippers, and a hacksaw would be difficult, as would a hatchet. Bad angles and no support. I would like to clean up a little more, but I'm getting overheated again. I shouldn't stay out in that sun too long. I don't think I'll burn, but I will get too much heat. Must sip water and lie down awhile.
