Jul. 13th, 2007 12:16 pmI wish I'd already completely broken in my new Tevas, or that I had my sneakers here. If I did, I'd go for a walk at lunch AND walk home from work today. But I already have a small blister on my heel, so that's a no-go as it is. I THINK the band-aid I have on it will make the walk home ok.
Tomorrow's the dinner. I'm glad I managed to get a good proportion on the basil-rose martinis last night. That will save me much time and heartache.
Tonight:
1. Naan gets bought.
2. Chicken goes in first marinade.
3. Rosewater-cardamom syrup gets made, cooled, and stored in fridge.
4. All veggies that won't get nasty from oxidation get chopped, ziplocked, and labeled.
5. Cleaning gets done.
Tomorrow AM:
1. Soup gets made in advance to save time, and stored in fridge.
2. Chicken goes in second marinade.
3. Mangoes get sliced and tossed with a little lemon juice.
4. Wine goes in refrigerator.
5. Everything else has to be done when we get back from Penzey's. Caramelizing the onions in advance may be possible, and the eggplant may be able to be charred before we start. Then it's mostly reheating and mixing when we're finishing the soup and the chicken is in the oven and the rice is on the stove.
Sheesh. I'm glad that my kitchen table is where we're going to eat, because that means we can chat and I can cook at the same time.
