1. Last night was laundry night. I spent the time my stuff was in the dryer trying to untangle a ball of yarn. No luck. Moral of the story: do not pull sock yarn from the center pull of a center pull ball. It tangles too easily.

2. Today, I remembered to wear my sneakers to work. This means I will certainly be able to walk home from work. I have nothing that I need to rush for, so...perfect!

3. Tomorrow night I'm going to the Harry Potter thing in Harvard Square. Ordinarily, I wouldn't, but I realized I did the stupid and ordered my Amazon copy to be shipped to my WORK address. See, originally, I thought it would be SHIPPED Saturday and would arrive after that. Nope, it's arriving Saturday. I won't be here to get it. So I will send back that copy when it gets here (unless someone else wants to buy it off me) and have pre-ordered a copy at the Coop for Friday night. I figure if so many people are gleefully trying to give major plot points away at this point in time, it'll be impossible to read the book after the weekend, since those people will ALSO be joined by the people who read it over the weekend and talk about it ("OMG, can you believe [blah]?") Thanks anyway. I'll get my copy Friday night (and have an excuse to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] roaming who will be there).

4. No idea what to eat for dinner tonight. I believe I might have some chicken tits in the freezer. We'll see.

5. Must remember today that I need to ask for another day off work next month.

If I hear people discussing HP7 plot stuff prior to my finishing the book myself, I fully plan to stick my fingers into my ears and yell "LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!" as loudly as I can while running away.

I'll be picking up my reserved copy at Border's after I get off work on Saturday. :)

I think it might still be possible to change your shipping address with Amazon. I got email from them the other day, reminding me to update my address if I'd moved.

No can do, I tried, but it said that it can't be changed now--it's too close to shipping time.

I've been planning to try to get the Harry Potter book at Pandemonium - as I understand it, the intent was to try to cater to a more adult crowd. So no seven-year-olds in costumes, no face-painting, that kind of thing. The original advertising campaign was for a 'Hogwarts' Alumni' party, but I don't know whether or not that fell afoul of the publisher's crackdown on unlicensed parties.

Good luck in Harvard Square. I'd expect it to be a total madhouse.

We should figure out where to actually meet. I'm also going with my MIT colleague (who still works in my old office) and her hubby who works at Lincoln Lab. And of course Tom. Another friend might join. Kythryne might also (http://kythryne.livejournal.com/139971.html) as she's the one who started this. (check out her fabulous wire jewelry! (http://wearablesculpture.com/)

We're thinking of dinner in the square beforehand if it's not too crowded, then hanging about mostly to hear the bands in Hogwarts Yard. Won't know until Friday, and will post so if you want to show for some dinner, come on by, our treat.

I doubt I'm dressing as anything other than muggle. After all, some of us do go incognito! ;-P

I agree with you on #4. Communications blackout for me starts at 9pm Friday (midnight, eastcoast).
