1. Doing the Potter thing in Harvard Square tonight. I want to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] roaming and [livejournal.com profile] lensman and the others going with them, but I also have to feed and medicate a diabetic kitty at the appropriate time. Hey you guys, what time are you planning on having dinner? I was going to go to the Coop to get my wristband right after work, but depending on what time you want to do dinner, I'll have to decide whether to go home right after that to feed/medicate Delenn and to eat there and come back to meet you, or whether to meet up with you for dinner, go home and feed/medicate Delenn, and come back to meet you again.

2. I'm writing this down here as well as in my Palm so I don't forget, since it was kinda spur-of-the-moment. Got an appointment with Dale at DHR tomorrow at noon since they had a cancellation. Yay! It's a little early for a day when I'll surely have been up late the night before, but at least it's close and I don't have to do my hair. :)

3. [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart is not coming home until almost 7am on Sunday. OY. Poor guy's being forced to take a red-eye. He's going home to throw his stuff down and maybe get a little sleep (hopefully he'll also get some on the plane). Then he'll call me when he's ready to meet up. Dinner reservations have been made at Gargoyles for Sunday evening. Yay for the first date in six weeks!

Where do you live/have to go home? I'd say, go home, medicate kitty, then come meet us for dinner and you won't have to think about anything else bu having fun.

You let us know how long that would take you. We could also come pick you up where you live and drive you into the square.

I'm off today: Tom's working, no clue when he gets free. My friends are free anytime we say. We think we'll park at MIT and T into the square, since we all have MIT parking (and you can park in the lot behind medical for free anytime after 2:30 anyway).

No worries!

Okay, let me amend that first reply, because clearly I'm not such a fan of anything that I don't know how these things work:

What time do you have to get on line for your book? Our general plan -- with no specific time attached to it -- was to have dinner*, then wander around and enjoy the sights and the music in Hogwarts Yard, drifting wherever it seemed fun to drift.

But you apparently need to have more of a time-structured plan in order to get your book/wristband.

so, let us know what works and we can easily work around that.

It would be lovely to take you to dinner, we never get a chance to actually sit and talk with you at the few parties we've both been at.

*Dinner. My friend Julie from MIT and her hubby (Lincoln Lab) have mentioned wanting to try Fire and Ice. Great idea, but my bet is no way we'd get in on a Friday night, especially THIS kind of Friday. There are tons of other places in and around the square to stumble in to:

Cambridge Common
The Temple Bar
Christopher's
all on Mass Ave between HSq and Porter

And Unos, Sugar and Spice (? I think, Thai place) in Porter

and if we have to we can venture into Davis.

I think we're trying to avoid Central. Or things actually IN HSq.

But we'll take a poke at Fire and Ice first just in case luck is with us.

Ok. I can get my wristband anytime between 5 and 9. So I could even drop by AFTER dinner and pick it up, no problem. The store closes at 9:30 and reopens at 10:30 for Get In Line Time. I should get there by 10:30, because I don't think the line will start getting SHORTER until well after midnight, and I'd rather not stay up THAT late.

I'll go home after work and take care of Delenn. By that time it will be about 6:00. After that, where I go will depend on where we have dinner. I can walk to most of the places you mentioned pretty easily from my house, or take the T.

Let me know for sure where you want to have dinner. Fire and Ice would actually be great for me if it works (so easy to customize = heaven for dieters!). All the other places except Sugar and Spice (yes, that is indeed the name) work for me. I just probably couldn't get anything very good for my diet there (since everything has a lot of oil in it). If that's where everybody else would really like to go, I'll just grab some leftovers at home or something and head into the Square where we can meet up whenever you get there.

Okay. I just made dinner reservations at Fire and Ice because Julie and Ken have never been there and what the hey. But they can't take us until 8 pm. Can you wait that long to eat, and just meet us there? (Get your wristband first, go home, do cat, take cat nap, come eat.)

If not, either have a light protein snack, OR we can easily shift to a 7 pm dinner elsewhere.

Be nice to get to know you. I know Tom knows PH from waaay back.

Cool. :)

8pm is fine with me, I think. Gives me 2.5 hours before I need to be at the bookstore.

It would absolutely be nice to hang out a bit more, seeing as we've only met the once at D&E's party. Heck, I've even seen your husband more than you because he brought me yarn and gave me a lift to Porter Square last week. :)

If you're going to be in the Square before dinner, give me a call. I'll e-mail you my phone number.
