Crap. I forgot this is the week of my Boston Organics delivery. ONCE AGAIN I neglected to leave my box out. Crud. I don't mind being charged another $15 for another box, since it will be refunded to me when I return the box, but the fact that this means I'll have three boxes sitting around my kitchen for the next two weeks is a pain. Meh.

It also means that my fridge will yet again be filled with veggies. I haven't used much of the last box, unfortunately. These two weeks will likely involve a good deal more cooking, though, so I should be ok this time. I may be forced to have something I don't really want very much for dinner just to use up some veggies. We'll see. Looks like I'll be going straight home instead of going to the Garment District. Then I'll put the produce away, go through my fridge, make dinner plans, and hit the store. I think I'll put yellow squash on my "DO NOT WANT!!" list. It has never thrilled me, and I'm getting tired of getting it in the box.

Did you shift the weeks of your delivery? I know that you & I were on the same weeks, and then I shifted mine, so I thought we were off by a week...and mine is today. I think.

That's why I don't order from CSAs, though I think it's a great thing to do and I've been saying for years that I'd do it. But with my weird schedule, and/or days when I just don't want to cook, I'd be wasting more of it than would be right. And with WholeFoods nearby, I can go get exactly what I want, how much I want, WHEN I want. I comfort myself that they tend to sell produce from local farms, and I make a point of buying the local produce over shipped in from California, when I have that choice.

Some people who get stuff from the same CSA trade stuff, or give to their neighbors.

This isn't really a CSA though. It's more varied. Really, this was just one batch that came at a bad time when I had too many evenings out.

I actually managed to do the exact same thing, except I was actually home and the boxes (I forgot last time too, there were 2) are sitting in my entrance way where you can see them from the porch. I really wish they had rung the doorbell. For some reason I thought my last delivery was last week.

So basically, I completely sympathize!
