So I finally got around to scheduling gum surgery. The two nearest choices after I get back from Stones were Sept. 21 or Oct. 26. Crap. Either I'm feeling like shit and unable to eat for my boyfriend's birthday, or for Halloween parties, etc. I chose the latter. I may be able to manage pureed pumpkin and stuff at Halloween, at least. Meh. I'm gonna stock up on light ice cream, sugar-free pudding, pumpkin, and tofu for the recovery period. I notified my boss-to-be that I'll be taking that day off. I then have a weekend to recover (the surgery is on a Friday). Hopefully, after that, I'll be well enough to work, but we'll see. Feckin' tissue graft. Meh. All this for a little teeny place where there's not enough gum tissue. TEENY. But it ain't gonna get better on its own.

Date: 2007-08-14 06:40 pm (UTC)Ok, I was going to reassure you that it's not all that bad as far as eating while healing, but the tissue graft I had involved pretty complex stitches, so eating was a hassle for a couple weeks or so. I wasn't making smoothies because it was painful to chew so much as it was a pain in the neck to get stuff caught in the stitches.
However, just to consider: birthdays often involve squishy foods like ice cream, cake and booze. Weddings and Halloween might involve harder to eat foods.
Bleah to the choice, though. (note tea and sympathy icon)

Weddings also involve cake and booze!
