In the kitchen and at the table
Sep. 20th, 2007 04:44 pmFor those of you who, like me, are big fans of food and the people who make it and explore it, a question in two parts:
If you could choose a famous chef to cook with, who would it be?
If you could choose a famous chef to eat a meal with, who would it be?
For me: #1 would almost certainly be Alton Brown, but Mario Batali is a close second. #2 would almost certainly be Tony Bourdain, but Mario Batali is a close second. :) If she were still alive, Julia Child would also be a top choice for #1.

Date: 2007-09-21 01:35 am (UTC)He isn't as bad a bloke as one might think. I think it is very trendy with American Television to encourage British to toss out an acetic personality, for example Simon Cowell, Anne Robinson (You Are The Weakest Link!), and of course Gordon Ramsey.
I love Paula Deen, and her restaurant is incredible, you know you're hot shit when the Savannah Tour bus drives by and tells their fare that the two blocks of people are in line at "The Lady and Sons" restaurant for the Mac-N-Cheese, sure enough we were! I have no idea how anyone can make Mac-N-Cheese taste that well.
good question

Date: 2007-09-21 12:42 am (UTC)2. I know you ladies are going to hate me for this, but Rachel Ray. She always seems so happy and bubbly, I think it would be a blast to hang out with her. (yes, I know she's married. :-P)
I like the "Ham on the Street" guy too, but Alton is the king of them all; to this day, his is the only cooking show I've made stuff from....

It is also worth mentioning that Tom currently owns a chain of restaurants entitled 'Craft', see link below.

Apparently quite a few spinoff restaurants including one called 'Wichcraft which specializes in sandwiches, quite clever.
