More than five positives for today
Oct. 3rd, 2007 08:56 amGood things:
1. The fog this morning is making me happy. Yes, it gives me frizzies. Yes, it's almost certainly going to burn off and result in heat and humidity for the next few days. But right now, it's grey and soft and temperate as a morning in Galway, and I like it. I should take a walk later today to enjoy it. Too bad I forgot my iPod.
2. I had time this morning to leave early and hit Shaws in Porter Square to get some Weight Watchers meals and some other healthy munchies for work that I'll actually WANT to eat. I've been buying bad stuff for lunch too often lately because got sick of hummus, crackers, and carrots (which I was eating EVERY DAY), and because we've had cold weather that made me want to go eat something hot in a warmer building. But now I have good hot lunches that should satisfy me. Yay! I'll still need to go BACK to Shaws this afternoon for stuff for home, though.
3. Dance class last night was fun. When I'm suffering from hormonal mood swings, dance class can send me whizzing either way. I wasn't at the absolute top of my game last night due to some stiffness, but wasn't bad, either, so I had fun and it perked me up.
4. Tonight I get some time to do some spiritual stuff I've been meaning to do for a while. I'm really looking forward to it, because it's been a long time since I did this particular thing. About a year or so, actually, in this particular context.
5. It's October. I LOVE October. And I love wearing my pumpkin socks! Now, it is appropriate! I need to find a new place that sells cheap and funky Halloween socks, now that Filene's Basement is closed. Hmm. Maybe some of the other discout stores downtown. We'll see.
6. I have new boots! Before dance last night, I went boot shopping. My old ones were falling apart. I had narrowed my choice for black boots to two pairs. One was $45 and near-perfect, but felt a little cheaper, and had wider, rounder toes than I ideally wanted. The other was $90, and better made, and had perfect toes. I was biting my lip over the fact that I was probably going to pay for the twice-as-expensive ones, when I realized that they were long enough to hit a spot that made it look like I had fat bulging out over the tops (I have weird shaped knees, which is why). Um, no. Got the cheap ones in black AND brown for the same price as the expensive ones, which hit just right on the leg. :)
