Ok, I definitely need to get a new bodice on Saturday. Thanks a bunch for digging yours out, roaming, but they didn't fit. They WERE very cute, though!

Maybe I'll make a new skirt at some point too, since mine is kinda half-assed. Well, it covers my WHOLE ass. In fact, it could probably cover several people's asses at once. But it's rather poorly made (by me, which is why). Still, it'll do for the time being.

I wonder if I should wear my corset over my chemise on Saturday until I find a new bodice? That way I could change very easily, anywhere really, without having to remove a bra. Ja. I think I will do that thing. And will bring my bodice belt along with me.

We live like half a mile away from each other, and work even closer. ;-)

I could try to leave it between the screen and storm door before I leave for belly dance class tonight, or I could try to bring it to the office tomorrow.

I may not get to any faire except FaerieCon this year: every weekend has something booked this October, which is rare. But I'm gonna try for one of Oct 20/21. My niece and nephew count on me to do the dress-up thang with them.

Plastic surgery just weirds me out.

I have friends who've had it done to correct issues after losing huge amounts of weight, which I completely understand. Excess skin, pockets of fat that don't go away when the rest does with diet and exercise, etc. I know people who've decided to get breast reductions because of back and breathing problems, and that makes medical as well as cosmetic sense. But stuff like this? Nope. Uh-uh. Thanks anyway. Yeah, sometimes I wish I could get a tiny bit of liposuction on the inside edge of my knees to get rid of this weird shape they have, but...nope. Too weird.

My co-worker at MIT (she's still there) had liposuction done on her inner knees, thighs, and butt. Says it's the best thing she ever did. Of course, it's expensive. But if you're ever curious. . . I'll put you two in touch to chat. :-)

Me, I'm saving up for that facelift I'll need one day, sooner rather than later. I'm okay about not being a beauty: I'm not okay about looking "tired" and "run down" and "old." I have a squick about old, always have.

Part of me thinks the lipo would be awesome, but then I remind myself that there are people who actively LIKE my legs as they are, and this is just part of how I'm made: it's not because I'm fat, it's not because my legs aren't in good shape (I have good leg muscles). It's just how they are. So those things combine to make me think that I'd rather just let them be.

I hear that: I'm all for real and individual, too, despite my "airy fairy" dreams. There are surely bigger things for us all to worry about. :-)
