Cool stuff
Nov. 20th, 2007 01:34 pm1. Snow!!! Ok, by now it's given way to rain, but it was awesome while it lasted. Yeah, I know everyone who drives hates it when I get all appreciative of snow, but I can't help it. Maybe it's because I'm a January baby.
2. I get out of work at 2pm tomorrow! Dayyyyum!
3. New person on friends list:
inannaliban, a fellow Fascist Meanie Poo-Poo Head who's quite cool.
4. Got a nonfat decaf peppermint mocha at Starschmucks. Mmm. Minty chocolatey goodness. Plus, getting this, I avoided the deliciously evil cranberry bliss bar!
5. Making plans for hot tubbing at East Heaven on Saturday! Ah, I really do love the outdoor hot tubs in the cold weather! I just need to check prices.
6. Last night, I cooked this for tonight's potluck meal: kabocha squash stuffed with cornbread, onions, apple, sage, and BACON. The BACON is in all caps because it wasn't just bacon, it was Savenor's thick-cut (really thick) applewood smoked BACON. I cooked the onions and apples in some reserved BACON fat. Yeah, me, cooking in the fat of pig products. Not often, but sometimes you just have to do it. I hope it goes over well. I wish I'd had a chance to make the cornbread in advance and let it go stale for a couple days, so it would have held together better. Still, the stuffing is tasty.
