On Saturday, I intentionally went to a bowling alley/pool hall/bar to watch a football game on TV. It was the Army-Navy game, and [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart's unit was going, so I joined them. It was actually fun. Not the game: Army got slaughtered. But it was fun being there and chatting with people, and doing the raffle and stuff. The boy dropped $20 on tickets for the raffle, and we ended up winning the one prize we REALLY wanted: a basket with a liter of 1800 silver tequila, a liter of Tullamore Dew, and a fifth of Miller's gin, along with some stainless steel margarita glasses. We also each got a copy of a Bunker Hill Pipe Band CD. Score! Dinner at Durgin Park was ok, not amazing, but the Indian pudding was tasty.

Sunday was the shopping day. Holiday shopping is almost DONE now! At least, my family is done and two out of three guys are done. Sweet. I even bought my holiday cards and have almost completed a list for sending them! I just need about four more addresses.

I may do just a little more shopping this evening, and then will go home to make low-fat fried rice and watch the second installment of Tin Man. The first one wasn't bad at all. It had that sort of awkwardness that seems to be common to almost all TV miniseries, but it was entertaining and some of the casting was quite good. So were some of the concepts that they created to sort of darken the world of Oz.

Ok, back to work now!

Plus, we have plenty of Grand Marnier, so if we get some limes...margaritas!

well, I already had the Cabo Wabo reposado and the Patron aƱejo ...

Plus, for fun and variation, a bottle of mezcal.

It's a neck and neck race between me and L to see who has the bigger/more diverse liquor collection.

and both of us win!

Yeah, I don't think I'll be buying any more scotch for a good long while. I have too much to finish first! I don't know that I rival [livejournal.com profile] pir in that department, but still...

I think having a broad variety, like we both do, lends itself to a tasting type with one or two friends ... which is why I'm still willing to buy more scotch, but not in any rush to do so.

Yeah, that really is the kind of competition where you can't lose. We occasionally get annoyed when the liquor collection overruns the available shelves, but then remember it's not a bad thing.
My rum has its own shelf. I think my Carribean sweetie is confused as to why the gringa has more rum than he does.

Right now I only have two rums: a gallon jug of myers dark (for rum and tonic, or grog, depending on my mood), and a bottle of aged guatemalan rum for sippin'
