Football and shopping
Dec. 3rd, 2007 09:07 amOn Saturday, I intentionally went to a bowling alley/pool hall/bar to watch a football game on TV. It was the Army-Navy game, and
pierceheart's unit was going, so I joined them. It was actually fun. Not the game: Army got slaughtered. But it was fun being there and chatting with people, and doing the raffle and stuff. The boy dropped $20 on tickets for the raffle, and we ended up winning the one prize we REALLY wanted: a basket with a liter of 1800 silver tequila, a liter of Tullamore Dew, and a fifth of Miller's gin, along with some stainless steel margarita glasses. We also each got a copy of a Bunker Hill Pipe Band CD. Score! Dinner at Durgin Park was ok, not amazing, but the Indian pudding was tasty.
Sunday was the shopping day. Holiday shopping is almost DONE now! At least, my family is done and two out of three guys are done. Sweet. I even bought my holiday cards and have almost completed a list for sending them! I just need about four more addresses.
I may do just a little more shopping this evening, and then will go home to make low-fat fried rice and watch the second installment of Tin Man. The first one wasn't bad at all. It had that sort of awkwardness that seems to be common to almost all TV miniseries, but it was entertaining and some of the casting was quite good. So were some of the concepts that they created to sort of darken the world of Oz.
Ok, back to work now!
