Oy. Now poor pierceheart has decided he's just not going to be able to get home tonight. I just checked availability and sent him directions for a hotel in Natick. Yeah, Natick. This is what happens when major routes are basically impassible.

Fuck.

I asked him to call me when he gets to the hotel, to let me know he got there safely. This storm was fun when it started, but when loved ones are out driving in it for this long, it gets just plain scary. Poor man. I hope he gets a hot dinner tonight. Who the hell is going to be open now?

Well, it's possible one of the hotels will have a kitchen. Even if he can't get a hot dinner, though, they'll at least have vending machines, so he won't starve. *hug* He'll be OK.

He'll be fine. He'll have had something to eat by now, and be settling in for a night. Just one night. At least he had that option. I needed meds that were at home (and that I can't administer to myself).

Good call! My neighbor said it took his wife 5 hrs to travel rt 9! From 495 to Chestnut Hill! He drove 7hrs!!!!

I was on 93 South heading over the Zakim at 8pm and it wasn't plowed yet!
The best? The Sidewalk in front of Int'l Place? Clear and sanded. The road next to it? Unplowed.

WTF? You would think we lived in DC and never saw more than a dusting of snow!

Thank goodness (1) he had Binky's tank reasonably full, (2) is resourceful, and (3) got there safely. I just heard on local news that the chuckleheaded new superintendent of Boston schools didn't let students out early yesterday. Kids were trapped on buses for about as long as pierceheart was. Egads.
