Shaking in my boots
Aug. 18th, 2003 12:47 pmOkay, so I'll admit it--I'm scared to death. I have my six-month review at work today at 2:30. I'm so nervous. I always feel like nothing I do is good enough (though I do keep trying harder in spite of that), and my boss is terrifying. Ack! Wish me luck, everyone. I don't expect to lose my job or anything, but I don't know if I'll get a raise like most people do after six months. And I could use one. I mean, I'm not hurting for money, and I always have a buffer in the bank, but that buffer isn't increasing.
On the plus side, I had a faboo weekend. Made candles for the first time! I'm very proud of that. I went to Man Ray and engaged in inappropriate PDAs on the dance floor. (hehehe) I went to Sam's housewarming, which was lots of fun. I also went to a Pagan Pool Party (aka Wet Witches 2003). Man, I *really* want a pool! Mmmm...pleasant memories. :)
Only weird point at that party: some guy I didn't even know told me I had the energy of an upside-down cross. Er...what? Huh? Okay, then. I said to him, "Honestly, I don't like to think of myself as having the energy of any kind of cross." Man, some Pagans are either really crazy or they just pull stuff out of their ass all the time. Wacko.
I saw a yuppie today reading Naked Lunch. There may be hope for the world. I'm still too nervous about this afternoon to look forward to the future, however.
