Why did it take me this long to find out that the guy (Mark Dacascos) who hosts Iron Chef America is not only the same guy I remember reading about in Black Belt magazine when I was a teenager, but is also the guy who was in Le Pacte des Loups? Shit, I loved that movie. Oh, and Vincent Cassel, who was so awesome in Eastern Promises, was in it too. I need to get a copy of that.

Not that I watch Iron Chef all that much, but I've seen it, and I never made the connection with the guy from Brotherhood of the Wolf. I loved that character.

Cool ancestry, too: Malay, Spanish, Chinese, Irish and Japanese. Wow. Apparently it's a good mix.

I started it ages ago, but didn't get far yet. It seems fairly cool. I think I have to pick a time when I'm in the mood for non-escapist reading and just dive in. I did like reading about Mario Batali sweeping up after the party while listening to Tom Waits. I knew the man had taste!
