Sony to introduce new Blu-ray players

From the article: "Toshiba Corp. announced last week that it would stop making players for the HD DVD, the disc it invented, mainly because Warner Bros. Entertainment said it would drop the format to focus on Blu-ray discs."

Guess I missed this before.

This probably followed the announcement that Wal-Mart wouldn't be carrying HD-DVD stuff anymore. (At least I think it was Wal-Mart, could've been another major chain.) As someone else said, that was the death-knell for the HD-DVD. It's like the 80s over again: Bye bye Betamax, hello VHS.
