+1: Got an e-mail back from Shadia! Yay!

-1: It takes about 3 months to make a costume, and my recital is in two. Fuck.

Edit: Make that FOUR to SIX months for the costume, since she's backlogged. Fuck, fuck, FUCK!!! No chance of having a new costume in time for the recital. Guess I'll be wearing the horribly-fitting one in my icon again. Again, I say: FUCK!

Thanks. :) Unfortunately, it requires a hell of a lot of safety pins, and just doesn't feel right. Oh well. I'll get a new costume eventually!

Have you thought about going to one of Za-Beth's events (or an NBDA event) to shop? Usually the vendors have a lot of cholis, nicer hipscarves (not your standard coin belt but ones with interesting fabric and beading), skirts, etc - might be enough to tide you over.

The next event is April 19th - the Morocco show. Buying a ticket for the show will also get you in for the shopping.

Hmm. I might do that. I don't really want to wait until then to get a new choli, though, because that's such a short time before the recital that if I can't find one there, it's unlikely I'd be able to get one in time for the show on the 3rd of May. I do still have that gorgeous navy-and-copper skirt you gave me and a hip scarf that goes nicely with it, as well as harem pants. I e-mailed L. Rose about a choli (basically asking if my measurements would require a custom job for a good fit, or if she thinks one of the standard sizes would fit me nicely without excess bulk (the problem with the choli I have now), and without squishing me.
