Mar. 24th, 2008 12:31 pmFirst, the sad news: Delenn is gone.
fangirl715 saw that she was getting worse on Saturday, and it seemed that she was no longer willing to fight, so she had her put to sleep. She is missed, but at least she's not hurting anymore.
Now, the other stuff.
1. A very nice weekend was had. It included time spent with great friends, time spent with
pierceheart, laundry, and time spent with Doctor Who.
2. The friends mentioned above have such great cats. Their big guy in particular is awfully snuggly and comfy, just like my Woogie, but in male form and a bit more sedate (I think he's a little older). The others are awesome too, of course, but I spent a good bit of time this weekend snuggling with him.
3. Why is it that all movies that are out now look like they're either absolutely AWFUL, or worthy but uninteresting? I'm dying for something big and exciting, but with acting and a script that are at least as good as the special effects. Meh.
4. Speaking of awful movies, I started watching The Tommyknockers yesterday on TV for lack of anything better being on. UGH. I enjoyed the book, but dear gods, that's a bad movie. It doesn't even have that charming cheesiness that something like Van Helsing has. It's also severely lacking in Hugh Jackman, which Van Helsing has in spades. I mention Van Helsing because it's the last cheesy movie I watched from the free on demand movie selection. Is there some kind of Comcast regulation stating that if a movie is over a certain quality level, they can't make it available for free on demand?
5. I really need to finish this sock. When I finish my sock, I can start another project. But I need to finish the damn sock.
6. I think I will go to CVS this afternoon and grab some cheap candy (unless, of course, all they have left is the nasty "chocolate" that tastes like wax, the nasty jellybeans that taste like nothing, and the stuff that's neither chocolate nor jellybeans at all).
And I think that's all I've got for now.

Date: 2008-03-24 04:52 pm (UTC)Thanks...
Date: 2008-03-24 10:38 pm (UTC)Someone did a really great take on Rainbow Bridge when Steve Irwin died--I think it was an LJ post; I should try to find it. I've known a few people in my life who, like Steve, are in severe danger of being trampled by all the critters they've cared for rushing to greet them... :-)

Date: 2008-03-24 05:31 pm (UTC)cvs porter square seemed to have little but the cheap choco and junk. i THINK if you were to dig thru the bins you MIGHT find something - there were snickers eggs buried in the bottom bin. when i was there around noon there were a couple women trying to decide if they were gonna tear thru all of it looking for the worthy items, or not.
i got out w/ a snickers egg (breakfast, yes, really), a bag of jolly rancher jelly beans, and a package of peeps. no choco worthy of purchase.

Date: 2008-03-25 10:11 am (UTC)I think there must be. I caught a little of Van Helsing recently and was astounded at how highly it rated on the cheese scale. Like, Velveeta factory cheesy. If it's on cable or On Demand, it must blow. (That's because they don't get ENOUGH of our money with basic and demand that we pay them more for anything worth watching. Except, that is, for Eliot and Olivia.)
