Apparently, it's wicked warm out. I think I need to go take a walk! Lunch got taken care of nicely today. I didn't have any more of my usual Weight Watchers/Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice frozen meals, and there were no leftovers in the house, but we got meeting food today at work. In addition to the range of evil pastries (I had half a sticky bun, don't want more than that, really), they had this awesome salad with baby spinach, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and a sweet balsamic dressing. Yum! I had a plate at the meeting at 11ish and another at 12:45. I also had a pear and a few whole-grain-and-seed crackers. I feel all healthy. Breakfast was light, but over-processed, so this was a good balance. This evening, I'm thinking rice pilau and salmon with raita and a salad. I just need to grab salmon, yogurt, cucumber, and cilantro.

There should also be dancing! I need to get to work on choreography for my recital piece. Even if I don't have my taxim chosen yet, I can start working on the karsilama, and the taxim may well end up being purely improvised anyway. I'll still need to listen to it and dance to it a few times to get a good feel for it, though, especially for the pauses. We asked last night about whether or not a group number would be feasible for the recital, and discussed a few options. I liked the idea of tag-teaming a routine the way we do at the Athenian Corner. That, or picking a fairly simple choreography we've done in the past that wouldn't be too hard for the less-experienced students (hopefully). Unfortunately, somehow Amira got the idea of doing a dressed-up version of our DRILL for a group number. Meh. Not so keen on that one. We'll see if that goes or not.

I've got such costume anxiety. I really need to quit that. I'm nervous that there's nothing I'll be able to do to get a nicely-fitted top for the recital, and as a result I'll feel ugly like last year. There is not a single photograph of me from last year's recital that I will even accept as tolerable. I just hope that if (probably more like WHEN) I get the top from L. Rose and find out it doesn't fit right, I'll be able to get some help adjusting it quickly! *sigh*

OK, if I'm going to take a walk, I'd better get a little more work done and then get out there!

I like L.Rose's stuff, but they do tend to run small. We got some velvet stretch tops for the troupe, and I got a medium, and it barely fit over my chest. That said...when it did, it was almost supportive enough I didn't need the bra--and the D's and DD's in the troupe were similar. It was just a hassle to get on.

Though really, barring it being an atrociously bad fit or just plain tacky, people will hopefully notice your dancing more than the costume anyway.

Running small is GOOD in this case. I ordered a large half-top in crushed velvet because my 39" bust is dead center in the middle of the range for that size. But the size that fits my bust is often baggy in places (like the one I had last year). Hopefully, this won't be the case this time around. Basically, I want something with negative ease: I want it to fit my boobs because it stretches over them, and I want a sleek fit over my back and underbust.

It makes me so happy because I never buy those berries except when they're on sale in the height of their season. And it's so full of vitamins, minerals, and fiber!

I bet the L. Rose top will fit - I have had very good experience with them. After all, it's stretchy velvet so it should adjust - shrink and stretch where needed.

I wouldn't mind doing a tag team routine and I have like 5 different routines that are less than 10 minutes (2 Scott Wilsons, and 3 John Bilzekjians) - I hope we do that but I don't know how we'd coordinate the whole group. I don't want to learn any other choreographies..my brain is going to explode soon.
