Yesterday was very good. We had a baby shower for my coworker N, who's a member of my little four-person team within our larger office. I gave her the baby cardigan I'd knit for her, and she absolutely loved it. She got up from her chair (and her back is REALLY bad lately) to give me a hug, and thanked me for it at least three times before the end of the day. She really seemed thrilled. It's so nice when your work is appreciated!

In that same vein, my dance teacher was happy with the way I designed the group number for our class, and my fellow classmates seemed to like it too. My teacher really liked the ending I choreographed. That was nice.

Today is beautiful. I ate lunch at my desk (online-ordered salad from Sebastians with fat free dressing, chick peas, and raw veggies). I also had two bites of the leftover cake from the shower (I had a big chunk yesterday, but I did dance, and it was the only bad thing I had then). I decided to make up for the cake by walking to Central Square to go to Whole Foods, one of the few local suppliers of Tofu Shirataki noodles, which I need for dinner tonight. I also snagged some hummus, crackers, strawberries, and a cucumber while I was there for lunches here at work. The walk down that way was lovely.

This evening, my plans are: 1) run some errands; 2) cook a light, healthy dinner; 3) watch Doctor Who; 4) unknown. #4 may be "practice dance".

Hey, a homemade sweater--even a tiny one for a baby--is a lot of work! It should be appreciated.

It wasn't all THAT much work, and it was lots of fun to make, but it was carefully done and I was proud of it. :)

I love that one. I like the way she is all about getting the most food-related satisfaction (fullness, tastiness) for the least calories and fat. I am totally a pig-out kind of person. I just don't really have that switch that says "enough". I get full, but I don't want to stop eating when I'm full. So the more I can eat without gaining weight, the happier I am!

I had to fight my natural tendencies to get this way. I'd do stuff like nosh on a huge bowl of steamed broccoli with salt and garlic and crushed red pepper if I wanted something salty and savory to nosh on after dinner.

Mmm-hmm. I'm actually thinking about heading out for my break soon, to get a green salad with balsamic vinegar as a snack.
