Updates and stuff
Apr. 30th, 2008 09:24 amThis, folks, is a BUSY week.
Saturday,
pierceheart and I hosted an impromptu barbecue that taught us two things. First, that sometimes, our friends really ARE available for short-notice plans, and second, that a rack of ribs will definitely feed more than two people, when accompanied by side dishes and preceded by chips, guac, salsa, and dip.
Sunday, we saw FIVE open houses. Sheesh. We were planning on one. I saw another on the net that was close by, so we made plans to see both. We did. First one sucked. Second one wasn't too bad, but didn't have parking. Then, on our way home, we ran into three more, so we went to see them. One was a one bedroom. One was over $300K for under 1000 square feet. Yeah, um, no. I don't even remember the other one. None were options.
Monday was fairly sane. I hit the grocery store to get stuff for dinner and for tonight's potluck dish, and then had a quiet night in.
Last night was the dress rehearsal for my recital. I flubbed a bit of my choreography on my solo first time around, but got it spot on the next run-through. I was really, really nervous about the group number. Two of the dancers hadn't choreographed their bit of it as of Friday, and I was nervous about that. I was also nervous about people's zilling, and generally about how put-together it looked and how smooth it was. Well, we ran it a couple of times while AJ was out of the room, and then we ran it for her, and she loved it. She thought we were great! I squeed with relief. :)
Tonight I'll be out having a potluck with some friends. I have to make a chocolate honey tart for that when I get home. Tomorrow, I need to get up (or at least out) early to catch the Acela Express to Providence for a conference. I'll take whatever commuter train is convenient home in the evening. Then, I will probably have a hot dog and hit NERAX. Anyone want to join me at NERAX tomorrow night? BEER!!! Hopefully the boy will make it before too late, since he has commissioning until 7 and I doubt he'll want to wear his dress blues to NERAX, so he'll have to change.
Friday, I go back to the conference, come home, and start ironing, planning, practicing, and generally getting ready for my recital. Saturday is the recital itself. We may head back to NERAX after that. Whew! Sunday, unless we find some good-looking open houses, I think I will be DED.
