Time to play catch-up with my bloggage.

After a late night out on Wednesday, I left for Providence early Thursday morning for the first day of my work conference. It was pretty decent. I ran into someone from Nemeton, the BU Pagan student group, who I hadn't seen in six years but who'd recognized my nametag and my face. Weird. We caught up a bit. Funny how we both ended up in development research, even though neither of us had really considered it.

Thursday evening, [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart and I went to NERAX for some real ale. We had to wait in line for over an hour because the will-call line just kept growing, and all those people had to get let in before the paying-at-the-door people could enter. Oy. We ended up staying until the end of the session, just to be able to try the beers we wanted. My favourite was, believe it or not, a mild: Portsmouth American Mild, made with my beloved Amarillo hops. Yum. We drank quite a bit in that short time, and ended up staying up late and talking before falling asleep.

Consequently, I was exhausted on Friday for the second day of the conference, too. I made it through, though, but then found out my 4:25 train home was delayed by 40 minutes, meaning it was scheduled to leave just before the 5:10 MBTA train. Gah. By 4:55, though, it hadn't even shown up yet, so I was dubious that it would be emptied, boarded, and departed by the same time as the MBTA train, so I took the T home instead.

Friday night, I prepped for my recital, which took place on Saturday. It was great. [livejournal.com profile] nepenthe01 and [livejournal.com profile] badriyaz were both wonderful, as well as the other dancers whose LJ names I don't know, or who don't have one. I really enjoyed doing my solo. The group number went better than I had feared. I felt bad for N, who had lost one but not both of her contact lenses, and who as a result messed up on one of the quick turns we did during that number. It ended up good, though. I've realized I love being backstage and chatting with the other dancers while we get ready almost as much as I love the dancing. They're really a good group of people. Granted, I don't see a hell of a lot of them for the most part, but I haven't yet found any who I actually dislike. Many of them are really awesome. We had a great show, even if the audience was somewhat pitifully small on such a crappy day.

[livejournal.com profile] pierceheart and I hit Kowloon for dinner, since we wanted to go out but wanted Chinese food. It was pretty good, though they didn't put broccoli in the General Gau's chicken, and the boy's dish was a little bland. No rangoons in the pu-pu platter either, BUT, they did have an actual fire in the pu-pu platter, so that was good. We utterly crashed on the futon afterwards.

Sunday, we slept in, and that was wonderful. We went to Fabric Place where I got the yarn to finish my Brea Bag (at last!) and I picked up some lovely altar cloths (i.e., single yards of quilting fabric). Then we hit the Natick mall and wandered for a bit. Evening was just grocery shopping, leftover Chinese for dinner, and Zorro. Nice and relaxing.

Tonight, we're going to see a house in Malden that we really like the look of (it has LAND!), but we found out there's an offer out on it now from someone else. Grr. Still, we can look. Now I have to get some work done before interviewing a potential new coworker.
