On Wednesday, I realized that after making the unbelievably good chocolate-honey tart from Epicurious for a recent potluck, I still had enough ingredients (minus the chocolate chips) left over for another one. So, on my lunch break, I went to Harvest Co-Op where I picked up some groceries and a bag of Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate chips. I made the tart last night, and brought it into work this morning. It's in the fridge now, and I'll whip it out around lunchtime. Other than a small piece of that, I'm going to try to be good today, foodwise. Breakfast was Hungry Girl's "Fancy-Schmancy Oatmeal" (oatmeal with pumpkin and spices). I had to bring most of it into work to finish because I didn't have time at home. Mmm. Good stuff, and a good start to the day.

Also on the food front last night, I made a salad of corn cut from the cob, onions, green and red peppers, and garlic sauteed in a little olive oil with cumin, coriander, salt, and chipotle. I diced an avocado and cooked two strips of turkey bacon, and mixed it all together with some lime juice. That and filet mignon (probably with similar seasoning) will be dinner tonight. Maybe a green salad too, with a yogurt-lime juice dressing, or a quick Mexican pumpkin soup to use up the leftover canned pumpkin I have.

I'm thinking about cancelling my Boston Organics deliveries. I feel like too much of the fruit goes to waste, but I also feel like if I switched to all veggies (instead of 2/3 veggies), I'd waste some of those too. But on the other hand, I really do like getting that stuff. I just don't always use all of it, and I still find myself supplementing it with other fruits and veggies from the grocery store either just for a change, or for specific recipes. I'll mull it over a while before I decide.

About your Boston Organics deliveries: Perhaps someone might be willing to "share" your order? Go halvsies, so both of you can get plenty of fruits and veggies that won't go to waste?

Maybe, but I'm not sure I want to bother seeking someone out, and I'm not sure getting a half-order from them would be better than just going to the store.

I was unhappy with them, too much rotten food delivered. We ate ours fast but it still went bad within a day or two. I started getting orders from Green street natural foods again and have been very happy with the quality. I'm not sure how far they deliver but they're in Melrose and they deliver free with an order of $25 or more.... and you pick your groceries.
