So, last night,
pierceheart and I saw a house that I think we'd both have been happy to snap up ASAP. It was big, beautiful, completely renovated, and it had a real yard complete with patios. It was amazing, and we probably could have gotten them to come down to our price range since it was only slightly above that.
Unfortunately, the damn place is in the middle of nowhere. Well, not really, but for a non-driver, it might as well be. Public transportation sucks in that part of Medford near Malden, and there isn't much nearby except houses. Also,
pierceheart said that traffic would be bad around there for driving, too. Crap. It was really a lovely place.
We're giving ourselves a week after
pierceheart comes home to make a decision about putting an offer on something or deciding to rent. Even that is cutting it DAMN close for our timeframe. I just hope the one other place I've seen that I've liked enough to want to put down an offer is still available then, or that we find something else that really works well for us.

Date: 2008-06-13 03:57 pm (UTC)I'd have to walk 12 minutes, take a bus to Malden T station, take the orange line to Sullivan, and then take another bus from Sullivan to work. The nearest real grocery store (as opposed to Foodmaster, which always seems icky) is a mile and a half away. Taking a bus would only make it slightly faster to get there than walking, because I'd still have to walk 12 minutes to get the bus.
