Jun. 30th, 2008 03:50 pmI'm feeling better now that the headache is gone, thanks to some extra-strength Tylenol. Having my boy call just to say he loves me helped too, a lot. :)
I just e-mailed my coworker who lives near Davis, asking him about a recommendation for a real estate agent so we can get the apartment hunt started. I also e-mailed the buyer broker about a couple places in Malden that I like. One's a condo and one's a single family, and both are within walking distance of the Oak Grove T stop. This all makes me feel productive.
I'm looking forward to getting out of town this weekend. It'll be nice to spend some time on the beach, and just relax. W00t! Life is a bit stressful and scary right now, but it's not really as bad as my last couple of posts made it seem. The weekend was great for the most part. The wedding was a blast, with great people (two of whom are now great MARRIED people!), great music, and great fun. There was a lot of dancing, including some performances by Cold Barn Morris and the Gay Blades. I tried to fake swing dancing while the Beantown Swing Orchestra was playing. I couldn't do much, but I managed not to look like a total jackass (I think). Also, how cool is it when a wedding reception has MICROBREWED BEER ON TAP at an open bar? Sweeeet. That beer needed to get finished, so it was brought to the home of JK for an after-party. Said after-party also included pizza, Chinese, and lots and lots of singing: folk, chanties, filk, etc. That too was a blast.
Sunday, we saw Prince Caspian at last. Not bad. He may be younger than me, but Ben Barnes is decent eye candy. Still, just a bit too boyish. Give him 10 years and he'll be drool-worthy.
I AM looking forward to burlesque tonight. I have some good heels on today, which is a bonus. Then, I shall head home, take a much-needed shower, and CRASH hard.
Edit: I just got word on my raise. Instead of just the annual increase of 3%, I got a merit increase of 3.5%. Sweet! Also, my manager still intends to recommend me for promotion at the one-year mark, which is in early September, which would likely lead to another increase!
