What's going on with the new place?

1. All the books are on bookshelves, and we even have extra room on the shelves! Wow! This is unheard-of!

2. All the kitchen stuff is unpacked, except for the larger pans and some other things that will hang on a rack that we put on the wall. For this to happen, though, I need to get some better adhesive pads for the cork roll that I bought to protect that wall from bumps and bashes.

3. Everything is out of our old apartments. I just need to give the boy my key to his old place.

4. I have made my first excursions to Stop and Shop, Assembly Square Mall, and Home Depot for various items.

5. Lucy is pretty damned well adjusted now.

6. I have mopped the horrendously dirty kitchen floor.

7. The place is actually in decent enough shape that we're having our neighbors

vervain13 and

ravenstorm27 over for drinks tonight! I hope it's not rainy when they come over, so we can sit on the deck. :)

8. The peaches in the yard are almost ripe!

Now, this morning, I took the buses to work for the first time.

pierceheart's been driving me, but he had an early start to work today. I timed things so I could take the 7:50 bus for the second leg of the trip and thus get to work nice and early, but the driver of that bus was sick, so they pulled this guy off another route who didn't even know which way to go, and had him drive it. Consequently, the bus I took got there at the same time as the next one, which is supposed to be 20 minutes behind it. Oy.
