Wow, I have a lot to say! I'll start with some

1. Having [livejournal.com profile] lothiriel_1 put up a spare tent for us so that when we arrived after 9pm, we could just fall down go boom instead of having to put up a tent in the rainy dark.

2. As always, meeting and spending time with new and awesome people.

3. Being part of the Stone Crew, mostly on the prybars and sometimes as a runner for cribbage (chunks of wood to support weight or make fulcrums for prybars), and hearing a woman I didn't know tell me that watching me work the crew made her proud to be a woman. :) Yeah, the crew's mostly men, especially this year with our dear Lesbian Wonder Twins out of commission.

4. Moving a 7-ton (yes, 14,000 pound) rock with ropes, rollers, sweat, and elbow grease, with probably less than 200 people, and actually lifting it vertical with ropes, pulleys, and an A-frame. Holy SHIT, people. Do you have any idea how big and heavy that is, and how awesome it feels to accomplish something like that? One of my favorite bits was standing on one end of the stone with about 12 others, in a big-ass tight group hug, to balance the stone where it needed to be.

5. Taking part in rituals that are always among the best eclectic rituals I have seen. Speaking to the Queen of the Underworld, and having her tell me that my strength will make me what I need to be, if I maintain purity of heart. Keep pure your highest ideal, strive ever towards it. That sort of thing.

6. Going to the party at [livejournal.com profile] bipaganfreak's site on the last night there, drinking, chatting, dancing, and even getting in a big ol' dog cage and posing with expressions of mock fright for people to take pictures. That was SUCH a hoot!

7. Crying at the final song, as usual.

8. NOT getting stomach flu.

The Maryland faire was awesome, too. We heard the Pyrates Royale, shopped around, ate tasty food, met up with old friends of [livejournal.com profile] pierceheart's, and generally made merry.

Cable has been restored at Mystic House. After going through THREE cable boxes to get the one we wanted, we went to set it up after getting home from Stones, only to find that we no longer had cable. Oops. Apparently, Comcast cut an RCN line to put in their line when they hooked us up, then RCN, who services the upstairs neighbors, understandably said, "Oh no you DON'T!" and took the line back, leaving us cable-less. Today, Comcast came back and fixed their boo-boo, so we have connectivity at home again. Yay! Also, I got some laundry done while I was there at home, so that was good.

I still kind of feel like I need a post-vacation vacation. :)

Things I need to do now that life is back on track:

1. Finish unpacking and setting up the apartment so it looks good for the housewarming (invites should go out soon).

2. Go on some dates with the lovely guys I haven't seen lately!

3. Get that goddamn dance costume made!

Ah, the Maryland Faire...

Worked as a barker for a tarot booth for a couple years, danced with my morris team one year, and dated a different barker for the same tarot booth one year (and was there every day all season)

I always liked the Pyrates Royal pub sing.
